6/20/2021 0 Comments IT ServicesIT services management is the strategic activities which are carried out by an organization to plan, develop, deploy, maintain, upgrade and optimize information technology services provided to clients worldwide. The services include network infrastructure, servers, desktop infrastructure, client-side technologies, management information systems, information security and web services. There is also the need for IT support and maintenance including application and system maintenance. Some of the IT services management services include consulting IT help desk and application performance management. These are defined as two different concepts. They mean the same thing but refer to different facets of IT services. Defining services involves developing tools and processes to achieve defined service goals and outcomes. Service goals involve objectives or outcomes, which are typically long-term in nature. Outcomes include cost reductions, operational improvement, and improvement in productivity and performance. The first aspect of IT services provided involves the development of a patient management system. The system helps to collect and classify health information from various business units within an organization. This information is then used to create reports which are used for statistical analysis and planning. Health information can include diagnosis, treatments, medicines prescribed and other health-related data that can impact the business operations. A service provider developing the patient management system may integrate both personal and business unit data into the system in order to provide accurate and timely healthcare information. In terms of the second aspect of IT services offered, this involves developing a business process to maximize customer satisfaction. The service provider develops customized solutions according to customer needs. The service providers have to take into consideration the current business models of the organizations where they are providing their IT services. They must then customize solutions to address the unique service needs of the organizations. The solutions developed must comply with the standards and policies set by the organizations that they serve. IT services which involve business processes are usually categorized into four basic areas. These include Customer Management, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Finance and Accounting, and Human Resources. Each of these business processes are based on individual organizations and require different IT solutions. IT service providers must first identify the organizational requirements of the organizations and then tailor their IT solutions to meet the required functionality. IT service providers must first define services which must be provided by them to their customers, and the way in which they intend to deliver these IT services.
